Don't miss two of the best Snipe events in North America, the Don Q in Miami followed by the Ron Payne Ocean Regatta in Fort Lauderdale, May 20 - 29. This is the first time the regattas are being held in close proximity.
The Ron Payne is a traditional one-day event hosted by the Lauderdale Yacht Club each May. This year, the dates have been changed and it will be a two-day regatta. Ron Payne competitors are blessed by beautiful ocean sailing and the wonderful hospitality of Commodore Peter Commette and his original Super Crew wife, Connie.
Luckily for sailors, it is easy to transport boats between the two venues, with Fort Lauderdale being only a 30 minutes drive from Miami. Race the Don Q, enjoy a couple days of rest under sunny Florida skies, then join the camaraderie during Wednesday Night Snipe Races in Miami (6:15 pm), and then arrive in Fort Lauderdale for some ocean practice and great racing on the weekend.
